It feels like too much, because it IS too much.

Therapy for chronically busy, hyper-independent Moms in CO, OH & KY

You're the one everyone counts on. The one who remembers it all and handles everything. The glue that holds the house together. On the inside though, you feel like you're failing. You feel the guilt of not doing the things the other Moms can do.

At the end of the day, you're exhausted in ways you can't explain to anyone. You're counting down the minutes until the kids are in bed and the house is quiet. Counting down until you can pour a glass of wine and let the weight fall off for a bit.

I work with women like you everyday, and I can tell you with certainty: there is nothing wrong with you. You are not failing. You are just trying to be everything for everyone, and not leaving any space for yourself.

You don't have to have it all figured out to reach out. You don't have to explain yourself, justify your reasons or prove that things are bad enough to deserve help. They are. You do.

Hi there

I’m Nicole Michels, LPC, Founder of Redbird Counseling

I know what it's like to be woken up in the middle of the night by a crying baby or a sick tween, knowing that you have an endless to-do list tomorrow. To feel so overwhelmed with remembering all the details, feel like you're failing if you forget something and to feel like you're the only one who doesn't have their shit together.

I also know that you don't have to do it all and be everything to everyone to be a good Mom. And I know that you deserve to take the time to slow down and take care of you.

I believe therapy should be a place where you don’t have to perform or pretend you're ok. A place where you can set down what you're carrying and focus on you.

My approach is real, collaborative, and rooted in deep respect for your story. I’m not afraid to talk about the hard stuff like shame, grief, trauma, anger or resentment, and I won’t judge where you’ve been because honestly, I've been there too.
